Arden Wilken is the creator of INNER SOUND (founded in 1978), a system of sound and therapeutic music for the integration and expression of the emotions.

Below you will find a resume of Arden's life and work to date. Arden's husband, Jack, has collaborated with her on all projects relating to the development of Inner Sound.

Began piano studies.
 
1972
Graduated from the University of Washington, Seattle with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory
 
1973-8
Certified Shorthand Reporter in the State of California

Studied meditation, energy healing and the visual perception of energy at the Washington Psychic Institute, Seattle.
 
1978
April 4 began the development of INNER SOUND™ with the composition of the first Personal Music.

Married Jack Wilken

Cruised and lived aboard various sailboats in North and Central America and the Mediterranean.

Collaborated on the use of sound and music in SOUND SEX, developed by Jack Wilken, a program created to serve therapists, professionals working with others, as well as individuals to clarify their own sexuality.
 
1988-94
Investigated the use of sound, music, colour and therapeutic strobes in the psycho-therapeutic process with Jack Wilken and Marc Costa, psychologist and founder of Integration Psico-corporal, Barcelona Spain.
 
1991
Incorporated Spectrum Sound Resonance System (SSRS), a range of psycho-acoustic effects developed by Jack Wilken into INNER SOUND.
 
1992
Co-published 18 TOOLS FOR SELF-DISCOVERY titles in a new edition with SSRS in conjunction with INFINITUM MUSICA, Barcelona Spain.
 
1993
April 28-May 2: presented work with sound, music, colour and therapeutic strobes in the psychotherapeutic process, Spectrum Light System (SLS) at Third International Congress on Psycho-Therapy, Castelldefels (Barcelona), Spain.
 
1993
Formalized Sound Touch, sound healing method for individuals and professionals based on the 50 INNER SOUND motifs.
 
1994
June 10-11: presented SLS at Second International Congress of Holistic Bodywork and Bodymind Therapy, Villersexel, France.
 
1994
Began a series of Healing Concerts for the general public as well as therapeutic situations incorporating images into the use of sound and colour.
 
1998
August 14-16: presented Personal Music at Sixth International Sound Colloquium, Loveland, Colorado.
 
1998
Created Sound Touch CD and Instruction Manual.
 
1999
1999 With Jack Wilken, developed the Inner Sound Correspondence Course
 
1999/2000
Hosted radio talk show entitled Inner Sound about the use of sound and music to improve the quality of life (KFNX, Phoenix, Arizona USA & WALE, Providence, Rhode Island, USA.

Co-founded the Institute of Sound Therapy, an international body to educate and inform the public about different techniques and therapies in the use of sound.
